Recently I started another blog that I will be keeping in parallel to this.
It’s called The Review of The New York Review of Books. The idea is by writing “meta-reviews” of the reviews in the NYRB we can start from where the intellectually inclined centre left already is and go from there.
If you really wanna cut, you take your best knife and sharpen it some more. Last month I wrote what I believe to be the first ever meta-review, Why He Has Fallen Short, which was a response to Why Has He Fallen Short? by Frank Rich.
I was lucky enough recently to have my good friend and colleague Joe McIvor contribute a Meta-review in which he takes on Paul Krugman and his Wife Robin Wells in their two articles “The Slump Goes On: Why?” and “The Way Out of the Slump”.
His Article Savings Glut or Debt Tsunami?: Rejoinder to Krugman & Wells takes on a lack of imagination he sees in their responses to the crisis, and their unfair blaming of China and Germany for America’s economic woes. Check it out!
